UZH Leadership and Governance Academy Lecture «Why Research Universities Should Be Led by Top Scholars»

Who should lead a university? Does being a great researcher make someone a good leader? In this lecture, Prof. Dr. Amanda Goodall touches on these and further questions exploring the relationship between leadership, management and organisational performance in universities. Based on her research, Amanda presents her strong thesis that universities should be led by top scholars and not general managers - but to suceed, experts need both management experience and ideally 'tailored' leadership development.
