Individual Coaching
The UZH Leadership and Governance Academy serves as a point of contact for UZH professors who would like to take advantage of the available coaching services. Our external, certified coaches guarantee confidentiality towards UZH and the Academy. They have many years of coaching experience and are familiar with the organizational and cultural peculiarities of universities.
Why coaching?
Coaching can help professors improve their leadership skills and team work, enhance their self management skills and achieve their career goals. You may face questions such as:
- How can I clearly define my leadership role and position myself as a leader?
- How can I better manage my time and energy to be more productive and achieve my goals?
- How can I communicate more effectively with my team, improve collaboration, and resolve challenges?
- How can I resolve conflicts with other organizational units and build better relationships?
Coaching offers a personalized and tailored approach to any given situation. It provides the opportinity to place the situation uner a microscope, to view it from a different perspectivem and to address challenges. Coaching gives professors the tools and techniques they need to succeed.
How can I make use of coaching?
Coaching for Professors within the Leadership Program:
Professors participating in the Leadership Program for Professors are entitled to three coaching sessions as part of the program. The costs of these sessions are covered by the UZH Leadership and Governance Academy. The first coaching session takes place with Prof. Dr. Klaus Jonas and serves to identify suitable goals and refer participants to an appropriate external coach from the coaching pool. To make use of the coaching offered within the Leadership Program, please contact Prof. Dr. Klaus Jonas.
Individual Coaching for Professors:
All UZH professors may contact the coaches recommended by the Academy directly and arrange individual coaching sessions. The costs of the coaching are to be covered by the professors themselves. In addition, professors may arrange an appointment with Prof. Dr. Klaus Jonas for a personal and confidential initial consultation to discuss suitable next steps and possible coaching options.
