Career Development

The Career Development course offers professors from the Faculty of Medicine and the Vetsuisse Faculty the opportunity to actively engage with their own career planning. In addition, important tools are taught, and application documents are analyzed.

Objectives
  • Analyzing the Current Professional Situation: Gain clarity on the role and expectations of a professor, and navigate the changes in responsibilities and perspectives that come with this transition.
  • Strengthening Your Position in Clinical and Research Environments: Develop effective self-marketing strategies to establish a stronger professional presence in both everyday clinical practice and research settings. Additionally, build confidence in communication and assertiveness skills to articulate your vision, advocate for your position, and enhance your influence in professional interactions.
  • Mastering the Appointment Process: Receive expert guidance on crafting essential documents, such as a standout CV and an impactful letter of motivation, and learn how to effectively prepare for questions related to leadership, strategy, and vision.
  • What You Need to Know About Appointment Procedures: Understand the intricacies of appointment procedures, including timelines, evaluations, and institutional expectations, to better position yourself for success.
Target audience

Assistant Professors and Externally Funded Assistant Professors of the Faculty of Medicine and the Vetsuisse Faculty

The course is offered specifically for professors of the Faculty of Medicine and the Vetsuisse Faculty, and can also be credited as a supplementary modul within the Leadership Program for Professors
